That is at least part of Arthur Wingate's concerns regarding Matt Rivers as well 😳😁 Glad you liked the scene! Given how long you've known Matt's character, were you surprised by his turn? I didn't want to telegraph it too much but I wanted there to be some subtle hints in the build and the show. |

Geeser Obviously with my long standing perception of Matt Rivers, it is surprising. However, I don't think you could have done that turn (dare I say double turn) any better than you did. I look forward to future developments. |

And we still have the "explanation" part of the turn coming too 😎 As for whether it was a double turn or not, that's a really good point and I'm glad you brought it up. I'm keeping that ambiguous for now. For it to be a true double turn, Geese had to have started that match/angle off as a true heel and I think that status has been the question over the past few months. And it's a question I still want to keep unanswered - both from the perspective of his intentions and other people's judgment. If he was lying about his intentions for "threshold", he's definitely a heel. If he was truthful, well it becomes more complicated and he ranges anywhere from a "tough love" face to an anti-hero. But now the question is, whether he will come back and with what motivations 😲 Geese has been attacked and injured in the middle of the ring at 2 points in his career. The first time, when Spunk did it to him in PW-W in 2005, Geese came back as a heel and went on his best career run ever. The second time, when Kyle Walker did it to him in UBL in 2011, Geese came back as a face and retired afterward. |

I was hoping that Corey would respond in this way. It makes sense in a lot of ways. One can even argue that his role as World Heavyweight Champion demands that he face this Matt Rivers.

The Title is probably safer in the trash than in Kurt's possession! My inspiration for the RP was what Mr. Perfect did to Hulk Hogan's WWF Title belt on Saturday Night's Main Event when The Genius beat Hogan by count-out and stole the title. I was SHOCKED by this angle when I watched this live as a kid but loved every second of it. One of the reasons I chose the name "Kurt" for Kurt Sanders was out of tribute to Curt Hennig who was not just such a great "egomaniacal" heel but could also really get under people's skin. I was waiting for Kurt to feud with someone who had the Title so I could pull something similar, but in line with Kurt's grand plan of stealing every ubble Title belt for maximum trollage (trolliage? Like foliage?). He could probably grab Palido's right now as he's hiding under his bed from RYOMA 😀 |
