Wow, really glad that Saji's promo went over so well!! 😃 I've been mulling over what to say for him in C!C and UBL for the past two months in the back of my mind. I knew the two circumstances were related in an opposing way, but I just needed a good stylistic approach to presenting that dynamic. At some point last night, I kinda thought of the phrase "double edged sword" as related to his situation in UBL and then realized the more accurate and broader career metaphor was a katana and went with it. (Thanks to Asako for being the type who would totally have a katana passed down in her family!) It was a lot of fun writing him in a more serious way but still keeping a little of that "fun" in the way he attacked Kurt. There's no fancy swerves here: when the year is up, Saji is making a bee line right for Kurt in UBL. If I was Kurt, I'd maybe think about not accumulating any more enemies! This promo is *fantastic* and it continues to be great to see Kazuo's growth. He really is shaping up to be a world-class talent. I may have to reconsider how he's booked in SWA, if he's even going to stay on there at this point. I could see him wanting to focus on the other stuff he has on his plate right now. I think Saji would want to stay in SWA for two reasons: 1) His recent career upswing started there by winning the Aftermath Championship last year. 2) Saji is incredibly pissed that Sanders removed him from hanging with Matsuki Army in UBL for a year (not counting training). He can't wrestle with them and is going to feel kind of alienated. He doesn't have any allies in C!C and can't wrestle at all in UBL now. But since he's BFF's with Connor, he's gonna want that ability to team with a friend in the ring. Their team in SWA will take on extra meaning for him in the next year. Definitely Saji's best serious promo. The Hurt's bout to get hurt. I can't remember ever writing Saji this serious before and having a promo style that framed it. He's had some words with people before, and also had a few promos where he's apologized for being an ass. But I think this is his first true moment of understanding the stakes in front of him and having to make a mature decision...in a mature way. He had to really examine his priorities here. Saji and self-examination are not synonymous but I think he was faced with a situation where he had to grow as a person and not just a wrestler. Would Fire Pro even still exist without OrochiGeese? I dont think it would. This man has been such an ambassador for this game. ALL HAIL THE GOOSE!!! Thank you very much!! I'm not sure Fire Pro would exist since everyone is my alt 😁

Our Universal Access match for August features Newfie George makes his UBL debut against the returning Agua the Wet Samoan! Caution: To avoid cramps, don't watch within a half hour of eating!

That match was tons gallons of fun :) 😁 I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I thought it was a really hard hitting match too! Even though Agua is Front Lines enhancement talent, he hits HARD and doesn't relent. And I simply couldn't resist the urge to put Newfie up against a "water-based elemental" (lol) like Agua. The idea of a fisherman having to catch and then subdue his catch kind of cracked me up the entire time while watching it. That final strike exchange being won by Newfie's lariat leading to the pin was great. Reminded me of an epic Red Dead fishing battle with a Legendary catch 😁
Later this month, the first match on the September event of the Debased Tour has the debut of Jumbo Jinzei as he faces Brandr Hoff. This is one of my favorite sims that I've gotten all year. It's WAR!

Kurt Sanders and Charles Langford (with a little help from good ole Jasper) obnoxiously respond to Kazuo's agreement to go on pressured hiatus and then issue another challenge to Tetsu Gushiken and RYOMA.

Corey O'Brian responds to Agent 1 with "Release Restraint Level Zero" and a challenge! Awesome promo! Corey dropping the hammer here with a huge challenge and response to Agent 1! You described that "No Quarter" cage match in a very menacing way. I love his disgust at Agent 1's "expertise of knowledge" of Corey. The whole promo just dripped with not just anger, but seething frustration.
Love this line too:
LOL "the thing that calls itself Matt Rivers" was a great touch.
Corey hit back at Agent 1 and now we have added a match to "ALL YOUR BASE!"
Despite UBL having had its share of gruesome attacks and injuries, we really haven't had that many deathmatches since the promotion ended. This may be its third, if even that high. Something tells me that Wingate won't be quick to sign another one any time soon after the brutality we'll see in this one!

Great show, there, was especially happy to see Jumbo get a win and Team RYOMA come out ahead, along with a Kurosawa-esque touch to the Furis return.

Great show! All the matches were fun, I'm super intrigued by the (re)introduction of Jakob, and the Ruby/Rivers storyline continues to intrigue. The real question is, where is that deal making, stock trading Geese and what has he been up to?

Very glad that you both enjoyed the show and thanks for the feedback! 😎👍 Great show, there, was especially happy to see Jumbo get a win and Team RYOMA come out ahead, along with a Kurosawa-esque touch to the Furis return. Jumbo/Brandr was a first sim and just BANGED. I loved the physicality. I loved how Fire Pro actually wrote the next chapter of Brandr's story with him pulling out that chair (relatively early in the match too). And I loved how Jumbo took everything Brandr had and still earned the victory. I see BIG things for Jumbo 😁
Team RYOMA vs. 3 of a Kind was probably my favorite tag match that I simmed all year. And that replaced my previous favorite tag match in Team RYOMA (minus THRASH) vs. 2 of a Kind (minus Charles) from a few months ago where Kurt made Tetsu tap to the same move that broke RYOMA's arm this time. This match was incredible to me with all the spots and the finish with Tetsu finally getting a measure of revenge after the past few months. You know Saji was sitting somewhere flipping out at the finish as well!
That's a big compliment for the Furis angle! I had a lot of fun writing that and bringing back the true monster that he is. Ruby Moreno probably sold more for Furis' presence than any of the guys he took out!
Great show! All the matches were fun, I'm super intrigued by the (re)introduction of Jakob, and the Ruby/Rivers storyline continues to intrigue. The real question is, where is that deal making, stock trading Geese and what has he been up to? Furis retired in late 2011 when he was "caught" and treated by his psychologist, Dr. Schassberg. The reason Furis targeted Ruby (and a lot of the backstory for Furis) is written in an RP from 2015. You may want to check that out. I still consider it part of the modern UBL run but its so long ago that a lot of people may not have it on their minds as to why he has unretired and who his friends are. I'll be writing a promo for Furis that serves as kind of a refresher and public challenge to Destiny. As for Geese - haha, I am delighted that you asked that question. This year (fiscal or otherwise, lol) will not end without his re-emergence onto the trading and arena floor. It may be sooner than you think too. Unless you think like, tomorrow. It won't be sooner than then, LOL.

Just when you thought the violence was over at the September Debased show, this happens! The history between Kyle Walker and James Ward is pretty long. But the short story is that Ward and Cosmic KID manipulated Kyle's hatred toward Geese for their own purposes throughout 2010-2011. Then they attacked him when he had second thoughts about his continued targeting of Geese. Kyle never really got revenge against either of them but practically cracking Ward's head open certainly is a start!
Ruby didn't have her best night out.
