Kazuki Takahashi (the author of the manga Yu-Gi-Oh) was found off the shore of Nago, Okinawa, aged 60. Seems to have been an accident while on a snorkeling trip...

Character actor David Warner at 80. I most remember him as Sark in Tron. This one stings pretty badly. Every role I ever saw Warner in, he was fantastic. He was the kind of actor that threw everything he had into every role he took, and that distinctive voice really brought a lot of characters to life. And he didn't take himself so seriously that he'd only do "proper acting", I mean the man was in a lot of stuff, from Shakespeare productions to Freakazoid and Batman, to a couple of Star Trek roles... and being the main villain of Baldur's Gate 2.

Man, that’s sad news. He’s influenced so many fighters and wrestlers over the years, and was one of the forefathers of what would become organized no holds barred fighting. Very ahead of his time, and always kept his sense of humour.
Crazy that he trained with Ed Lewis at seven years of age, never mind all of his accomplishments. What a life. 🥲

Man, that’s sad news. He’s influenced so many fighters and wrestlers over the years, and was one of the forefathers of what would become organized no holds barred fighting. Very ahead of his time, and always kept his sense of humour. That sense of humor was quite active in his first interaction with Bruce Lee. I saw an article years ago that described their interaction and it was hilarious. From what I remember of the interaction: Gene was working as the head of the stunt department in a Bruce film. He felt that Lee was getting a bit too physical with the stunt workers and confronted him. Bruce suddenly hopped on Gene's shoulders (think like Victory Roll set-up) and Gene found it so funny that it broke the tension. They became lifelong friends afterward. Crazy that he trained with Ed Lewis at seven years of age, never mind all of his accomplishments. What a life. 🥲 That really is insane and just shows he dedicated his whole life to martial arts. I would like to read a book about his life.
