Out of the many people I am thankful that FPD introduced me to, Peter Aerts is right near the top!
I had no clue who he was but chose him cause FPD gave him great range on his kicks. I needed those since my early forays into the game had me completely dominated in the grapple. I was only able to win by focusing on strikes. Aerts and some of the Pancrase guys (especially Masakatsu Funaki) got it done for me before I finally learned the grappling engine.
I got interested in Aerts career and saw some excellent matches and got more into kickboxing as a result 😎
Also, I can never hear Marco Ruas' name and not think of his introduction in one of the UFC video games where they screamed "KING OF THE STREETS!" and damn, I hope that street had a midnight sound ordinance or something 😂
