Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium - NEW SAVES (UPCOMING)

Some of you who've been around since the old school Fire Pro Club might remember that I distributed (via e-mail back then) a save pack for SFPWXP in 2009. There were multiple saves, each with different themes, like MMA or video game characters, in addition to the wrestling saves.

Well since then I never really stopped playing X Premium. Even when World came out and I got that for PC, I'd still occasionally fire up X Premium once in a while. Sometimes I'd even challenge myself to make or convert an edit in X Premium just to see if it was possible.

Well 2009 was 12 years ago and in 12 years making an edit "once in a while" starts to really add the fuck up and eventually I noticed that I had several hundred edits made in X Premium. Going into this year, the 25th anniversary of the game, I decided I would double down on finishing up my edits, (with full appearances, movesets, paramaters, etc. -- everything but logic) grouping them by themes (feds/eras/etc.), filling out all the empty slots in the save files, and try to release a new save pack for SFPWXP, by the end of this year. Due to circumstance beyond my control, that was not possible, so I thought I should at least announce it while it's still the game's 25th anniversary year lol. And I'm actually pretty close to 100% completion anyways. In fact, you can expect the release of everything within as little as a few weeks. Until then, I'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions for the saves.

Until then, does anyone know a good place to upload the save pack when I'm done with it? Ideally someplace as permanent as possible.

Here's a list of everything in its currently planned form (some rosters will probably change slightly between now and the final versions):

WWF "HULKAMANIA" ERA (circa 1984 or 1985 until circa 1990 or 1991, approximately)

Pretty much what it sounds like. The days when Hulk Hogan and the WWF were on top of the world. You'll notice that Hogan is in here despite already being a default in the game. That's because the default version is based on his Japanese matches and I wanted a version that better represented his late 80s period. I also might delete Bob Backlund and Pedro Morales, because they really were on their way out by then (opinions on this would be appreciated).

WWF "NEW GENERATION" ERA (circa 1990 or 1991 until 1995 or maybe early 1996 at the latest)

Essentially "the shitty cartoony era of WWF" lol. I don't even know why I made this lol. I might delete Savio Vega, Goldust, and/or Marc Mero. Did they debut too late to really be associated with this era? Again, opinions are welcome. Also, Undertaker is in the game as a default, as is Ric Flair and the Steiner Brothers (and Hulk Hogan for that matter).

TERRRITORIES (1980s)

Also includes some early WCW guys. I'm thinking about deleting Wahoo McDaniel and either deleting Superstar Billy Graham or changing him to his karate gimmick (meh). Opinions on this and who to replace them with, if at all? Also, Terry Gordy is in the game as a default, so yes you can make the full Freebirds. The Funks are also in as defaults. As is Ric Flair, but I wanted a more 80s version.

TERRITORIES (70s, GOLDEN AGE, & CATCH ERA)

Basically everything pre-1980. I'm considering deleting Afa and Sika and possibly Great Gama Singh as well. I can figure out replacements for them pretty easily though. If you don't see Lou Thesz or Karl Gotch or Fritz von Erich on the list it's because they're already in the game.

RING OF HONOR: THE EARLY YEARS (basically the 2000s)

This was never really updated past 2010 because I made the list for the roster forever ago and stuck to it. I considered making a 2010s ROH save at one point, but I just don't have that kind of time. This roster is probably final, but opinions are welcome and encouraged.

CHIKARA (pre-STORYLINE shutdown, so basically 2002-2013)

This never got updated after the "shutdown" storyline, because I made most of it all the way back then for what was basically their then-current roster. When I decided to try finishing the save I ended up focusing on the early years, because that's just what interested me at the time. After the real shutdown I considered redoing it to give it all of the biggest and most iconic wrestlers in Chikara's entire history, but aintnobodygottimefodat. Consequently, this roster is almost 100% for sure finalized. I also have to add that I knocked it out of the fucking park with The Colony. You will be shocked how accurate they look.

INDEPENDENTS: 2000s EDITION (other than ROH and Chikara of course)

This is where I dumped all the other indie guys, which mostly ended up being hardcore wrestlers. But then I had a lot of empty slots and filled them quickly by including ROH guys (and a few from Chikara) who had also worked extensively with some of the more well known indie feds. So as a result there's a fair degree of overlap between this save and the other indie saves. I was going to rectify that to a degree (and still might), but I just don't know if I care enough to spend anymore time on it. I'd love to hear what you guys think and if you think there's someone that really should be in that isn't already listed. And btw the reason it ended up focusing only on 2000-2009 is because a lot of these are updated/improved "remade" versions of edits from my original save pack and the rest are based on a HUGE list of unused edit formulas that I had way back in the day and it was easier and quicker to use those than to make an up-to-date modern indie lineup.

LUCHA LIBRE (up to the early 2010s)

This covers many of the big names throughout lucha history up through the early 2010s (when I made most of it, which is why it never got updated beyond that). This roster is probably final unless I can be convinced to delete someone in favor of a new edit. I also have to add that while a few of the appearances are less than ideal, due to it just not being possible to make some lucha costumes in this game, overall this is easily the best save of them all in terms of appearances. In particular, Gronda II might be THE single best looking edit I ever made. I was genuinely amazed at how accurate I was able to get it. One other thing: Default logic in Fire Pro games is sort of crap for lucha matches, so if anyone knows a good formula for "generic lucha logic" then I'd love to hear it.

JAPAN (90s)

The top names in Japanese wrestling during the 1990s (that aren't already in the game). I don't think I'm gonna make any changes to this roster. Also, if anyone's interested, there is an old hacking program for SFPWXP that can be used to make Giant Baba's edit head available, but I can't get it to work. Anyone wanna give it a shot? I can send you all the necessary stuff when it's ready.

JAPAN (90s ALT)

I don't even remember making this one, but apparently I have an alternate version of this save with a VERY SLIGHTLY different roster. I guess I put the effort into making those edits, so I might as well include it in the save pack.

FIRE PRO S IN SUPER FIRE PRO X PREMIUM

Yes, you read that right. I translated every single default from S for the Saturn into X Premium for SNES. Counting wrestlers with alternate identities that were included in the game, there coincidentally happened to be the exact same number of new extra wrestlers in S (compared to X Premium) that there were edit slots in X Premium. I made this one a few years ago because I was bored lol. The versions in this are not the same versions in the other Japanese save. These are based directly on Fire Pro S with the exact same stats, movesets, etc. Even attire is different in some cases.
