Starlight Ring is a Worldwide Joshi/Women's Wrestling Promotion founded to give women across the world a top promotion to work for 12 months a year full time. Initially the promotion started out as a touring promotion running small shows in three different groups across Europe, Japan, and the USA at the same time. Every so often the groups would combine for Super Tours on each continent. However the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak put a halt the initial plans of the promotion. Due to massive turnover during the halting of the promotion Starlight Ring announced they would "reboot" in October 2020 from First Ave in Minneapolis.
The reboot will scrap the touring plans until full capacity shows can be restored and run shows that are aired once per week, each week, on Tuesdays. This will begin with the Nine Week, Ten Show, Starlight Grand Prix tournament to determine a new World of Light Champion. Following this initial tournament the promotion will begin "tours" with the weekly program airing from locations in the United States from October to January. In February each year Starlight Ring will move to Europe for four months where they will run shows from Feb-May. Then from June-August, Starlight Ring will move it's base to Japan and run shows all over the Asia-Pacific region. The year for Starlight Ring ends on Japan's Autumnal Equinox Day with Joshi Power to cap the entire 12 month run before repeating the calendar.

Starlight Grand Prix, Night 1: October 16th, 2020 (First Ave - Minneapolis, MN)
Segment 1: Opening
Hello everyone, we're here at the historic concert venue First Ave in the heart of Downtown Minneapolis, MN for the inaugural edition of Starlight Ring. I’m Excalibur joined by Beth Phoenix for What will surely be a fantastic night of wrestling. (BP) Tonight will also be the start of the Starlight Grand Prix to crown the first ever World of Light Champion. (Exc.) You are right about that Beth. 32 women enter the Starlight Grand Prix and only one will make it out. That all starts tonight with our first four Round of 32 matches. (BP) And we kick that off with a match between the Japanese tag sensation Konami as she faces the dark and brooding Anna Jay.
Match #1: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Konami vs Anna Jay (30 minute TL) Opening the night and the Round of 32 in the Starlight Grand Prix is Japan’s Konami facing off against The Star of the Show Anna Jay. Bryce Remsburg draws duties to referee this opening contest. Most of the match sees Konami and Anna Jay going tit for tat. Anna Jay tries to keep the match on their feet while Konami tries to bring it to the mat with submissions. As the match winds down Anna Jay comes close on three pinfall attempts that Konami kicks out of all of them after 2. The frustration gets the best of Anna Jay as Konami is able to hit her with a Vertical German Suplex pinning combination for the win. Winner - Konami via Vert German Suplex at 12:20
Match #2: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Yuka Sakazaki vs Kiera Hogan (30 minute TL) Next up is Tokyo Joshi Pro’s “Magical Girl” Yuka Sakazaki facing off with “The Girl on Fire” Kiera Hogan. Aubrey Edwards draws referee duties for this match. This match once again started as a back and forth affair between the two ladies, but before long Yuka took full control of the match. A dominating Yuka Sakazaki seemed to have things under control until missing a dropkick that Hogan took full advantage of. However that advantage for Kiera Hogan wouldn’t last long as Yuka once again took advantage of the match. She would hit Kiera with the Magical Girl Splash with a pin for the win. Winner - Yuka Sakazaki via Magical Girl Splash at 9:02
Match #3: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Kylie Rae vs Toni Storm (30 minute TL) Third out of our four matches on this special edition of Starlight Ring is “Smiley” Kylie Rae facing off with Toni Storm. Bryce Remsburg is the referee for this contest. Kylie Rae took control of the match early on and for the most part held that control for the first six minutes of this 30 minute time limit match. However after tossing Storm out of the ring, Toni Storm would take the advantage. This included a nasty piledriver onto the mats outside the ring. Once back in the ring this beatdown continued, even including another piledriver and a near fall where Kylie got the shoulder up at the last possible moment. Though fighting valiantly until the end Kylie Rae could not overcome what would be three piledrivers. Toni Storm hit a leg drop from the top rope before covering for the win. Winner - Toni Storm via Diving Guillotine Leg Drop → Back Hook-Leg Pinall at 11:34
Segment 2: Main Event Preview (Excalibur) What a war we just saw between those two ladies and folks we aren’t done just yet. (Beth Phoenix) You’re absolutely right Excalibur those two beat the absolute hell out of each other so can the next match top it? (Exc.) We’ll have to wait and see about that, but it will be one hell of a match. Two of the biggest and baddest women on the planet face off next as “Thick Mama Pump” Jordynne Grace faces “The Native Beast” Nyla Rose!
Match #4: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Jordynne Grace vs Nyla Rose (30 minute TL) Wrapping up the show is our Main Event between Jordynne Grace and Nyla Rose with Aubrey Edwards as the referee for the match. It opens with the two ladies beating the absolute hell out of each other like you would expect. Neither woman gains any significant advantage until Grace hits Nyla with a Fallaway Slam. Grace maintains control and pacing of the match until Nyla reverses a suplex attempt by Thick Mama Pump. The match is then led by Nyla for the next few minutes until Grace starts to mount a comeback. That comeback is only really snuffed out when Nyla Rose hits Jordynne Grace with a standing gourdbuster. A back and forth fight ensues with the ladies trading stronger and stronger moves. After getting back in the ring from a quick brawl on the outside Nyla sends Grace into the ropes and hits a chokeslam on the rebound before pinning Thick Mama Pump for the win. Winner - Nyla Rose via Nodowa-Otoshi → Both Hands-Press Pin at 16:48

Starlight Grand Prix, Night 2: October 20th, 2020 (First Ave - Minneapolis, MN)
Segment 1: Opening
Match #1: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Utami Hayashishita vs Kairi Hojo (30 minute TL) Opening the night is Utami Hayashishita from Stardom’s Queen’s Quest faction facing off with Kairi Hojo with Aubrey Edwards as your referee. Kairi Hojo took the initial lead in the match for the first few minutes. After a splash and pin attempt about 3:30 in Hayashishita took control of the match. Utami would start to wear down Kairi with multiple different throws and submission holds. Hojo would be dominated for almost the entire match but one move would change that as she hit Utami with a Fisherman’s Suplex and held on for the pin to win the match. Winner - Kairi Hojo via Fisherman’s Suplex at 10:47
Match #2: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Nikki Storm vs Taya Valkyrie (30 minute TL) The second match on the night features Nikki Storm facing off with “La Wera Loca” Taya Valkyrie with Bryce Remsburg as your referee. Storm and Valkyrie start the match alternating moves and forearm shots with each other for the first few minutes. Five minutes in and neither woman can really get the advantage on the other one. The match gets progressively more intense and they both continue to trade stronger and stronger moves. And both ladies have two near falls as neither can still gain the advantage. Taya does manage to hit Storm with a spinning side slam but Nikki Storm manages to just barely kick out. A visibly frustrated Taya Valkyrie takes her frustrations out on the referee by screaming at Bryce, then stepping out of the way at the last minute as Nikki Storm comes at Taya. A knocked out Bryce Remsburg doesn’t help Taya and Nikki Storm comes off the ropes and hits Taya with a cross body, a just recovering Bryce manages to count the pin. Winner - Nikki Storm via Flying Cross Body at 13:05
Segment 2: Backstage (Excalibur) We’ve just gotten word something is happening in the back. [Camera Cuts to Back, you see Shayna Baszler throwing punches at Kimber Lee before tossing her into a wall] (Beth) What has gotten into Shayna, she has a match tonight with Kimber Lee! (Excalibur) I’m not 100% sure but she is absolutely destroying Kimber Lee and everyone who comes near them. [Camera showing Baszler continuing to beat on Kimber Lee before hitting her with a Kirifuda Driver] (Beth) OMG did Baszler just do what I think she did!? (Exc.) Yes she did Beth, Kimber Lee is just laid out now and I don’t know what that means for their match later tonight. Either way we have our next match coming up next. (BP) In our third match of the night it’s another Round of 32 match between Japan’s Jungle Kyona and Leva Bates.
Match #3: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Jungle Kyona vs Leva Bates (30 minute TL) After the excitement in the back we have our next tournament match between Jungle Kyona and Leva Bates. Aubrey Edwards is the referee so Bryce can get any potential medical attention necessary. Jungle Kyona is heavily favoured in this match to defeat Leva Bates and she comes out strong to start the match. Jungle really shows why she is favoured by taking control early and really stopping any attacks Leva tries to mount in their tracks. However as the match evolves Leva starts getting her footing and really starts to mount a comeback and attack on Jungle Kyona. Both women mount heavier and heavier offensive attacks to wear down the other and each scores multiple near falls. In a hard hitting match their stamina starts to wane as the match goes over the 20 minute mark. Jungle and Leva exchange hard strikes in the corner where Leva ends the exchange with a superkick before hitting Jungle Kyona with Critical Confirmation (a codebreaker) to win. Winner - Leva Bates via Critical Confirmation at 21:33
Segment 3: Post Match Interviews w/ Jungle Kyona and Leva Bates [Camera shows Jungle Kyona being helped to the back via side walkway, similar to NJPW, then cuts to announce desk] (Excalibur) We have just witnessed a war if I have ever seen one. Wow that was incredible and I don’t think anyone is going to underestimate Leva Bates in the 2nd Round at Halloween Hell. (Beth Phoenix) I don’t think so either Excalibur, let’s head backstage to Renee Paquette to hear Jungle Kyona and Leva Bates’ comments on the match.
[Camera cuts to backstage press table with Renee Paquette standing near Jungle Kyona] (Renee Paquette) Jungle Kyona, you put up one hell of a fight but came up just short to Leva Bates tonight. How do you feel about that? (Jungle Kyona in Japanese) Leva . . . Leva Bates, you are one very very good pro wrestler. It was an honour to wrestle you tonight. I hope we meet again sometime, not only as adversaries but maybe even on the same side.
[An exhausted Jungle Kyona leaves the room, an exhausted but ecstatic Leva Bates enters] (Renee Paquette) Leva how do you feel about that match? (Leva Bates) OMG I honestly cannot believe I won that match. Jungle you put up one hell of a fight and were one of the toughest women I ever faced in the ring. Maybe we can do that again sometime. [Camera cuts to announce table as Excalibur introduces the next match]
Match #4: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Bea Priestley vs Saya Kamitani (30 minute TL) (Excalibur) That was a war and it was great to hear them build each other up. Next up we have the “Top Gaijin” Bea Priestley face off with Saya Kamitani. (Beth Phoenix) And Bryce Remsburg will be our referee, he did get checked out after getting taken out by Nikki Storm and doctors have determined he is ok.
Two STARDOM mainstays facing off against each other is always something special to see. Bea Priestley was accompanied by her boyfriend Will Ospreay to the venue tonight, [camera shows him in box seat] He’s currently watching the match, hopefully he doesn’t get involved in the match. Bea would gain control in the first few minutes but Saya would start to mount a comeback with some well placed elbows. Only for that comeback to be cut off by Bea. “The Top Gaijin” would do everything to wear down her opponent. Stronger and stronger strikes and grapples, throws out of the ring, running attacks, submissions, everything. Even with those it would still be Kamitani who would come closest to getting the pinfall. After Saya got another near fall, Bea would hit her with a series of kicks before hitting the Japanese Ocean Suplex on Kamitani to end the match Winner - Bea Priestley via Japanese Ocean Suplex at 16:05
Segment 4: Pre-Match Promo, Shayna Baszler [Shayna Baszler’s music hits and she walks out to the ring. Camera cuts quick to excalibur] (Excalibur) We’’ folks we have been told that Shayna will be addressing everyone ahead of what is her scheduled match against Kimber Lee. (Shayna Baszler grabs a mic) I just got back from talking with the Board of Directors. And while they aren’t happy with me they can’t really do anything. See, Kimber Lee obtained serious injuries that will take her at least six months to recover from. But that’s not my fault it’s hers! (Excalibur) Yeah right, that’s why you attacked her back stage. (Shayna) You Kimber Lee said you had what it takes to face me anytime anywhere. And I never forgot about that! And I took you up on that offer and you weren’t ready, so you do not deserve to be in this tournament. And because you’re injured I automatically advance. Aubrey get your ass in the ring and declare me the winner. (Exc.) This is absolutely shameful how she’s acting! (Beth Phoenix) She does have a point though with Kimber Lee being out.
[Lights go out, heavy metal starts to play followed by a growing THUNDER ROSA as the music starts] (Exc.) Oh my god it’s the NWA World Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa! We never expected anything like this! (Thunder Rosa) Shayna, You may have talked to the board of directors on Kimber Lee being out of the tournament. But before we started this promotion the board called me and said “Hey, we think someone will pull something to knock someone out before the 1st Round. Will you be the substitute?” And I accepted that offer. Which means Shayna, It’s you and me right here and RIGHT NOW!
(Beth) Wow I didn’t see that coming at all! This is incredible. (Exc.) Absolutely, we have Shayna Baszler vs Thunder Rosa right here next!
Match #5: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Thunder Rosa vs Shayna Baszler (30 minute TL) Thunder Rosa gets the first shots in for the match but a pissed off Shayna Baszler takes control immediately after that. The Queen of Spades starts working Thunder Rosa’s arm early with a variety of submission holds. Each time Thunder Rosa looks to have gained a bit of traction Baszler cuts her off with a variety of grapples and throws. Eventually Thunder Rosa hits Shayna with a Gory Bomb and gets a two count on Shayna. From this point on Thunder Rosa has her fire lit and continues to dominate the match. Eventually submitting Shayna Baszler with a Dragon Clutch. Winner - Thunder Rosa via Dragon Clutch at 19:30
Segment 5: Main Event Preview [Shayna screaming in the ring] This isn’t over you fucking bitch! I will break you! (Excalibur) Everyone it’s now Main Event time here on Night 2 of the Starlight Grand Prix. We will see Tay Conti face off with Deonna Purazzo (Beth Phoenix) . Deonna should have the advantage here against Tay as she has more experience all around the world. Let’s go to Dasha Gonzalez in the ring as we start our final match.
Match #6: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Tay Conti vs Deonna Purrazzo (30 minute TL) Main Event time as Tay Conti faces off with Deonna Purrazzo. The younger Conti will have her work cut out for her against the veteran of ROH, Impact, WWE, and Stardom. The match starts fairly even with each woman controlling for about a minute each, alternating in the opening four minutes. Some stiff kicks to Conti gives overall control of the match to Purrazzo. That changes when she misses a backflip springboard elbow into the corner as Conti moves just in time. Conti works Deonna’s legs after gaining the advantage but eventually Purrazzo hits Conti with a Fisherman’s Suplex and nearly pins her. The match goes back to a back and forth format with each lady getting near falls on the other. Purrazzo takes final control of the match after reversing an irish whip into the ropes. After working on Conti’s arm for the entire match she finally submits Tay Conti with a Standing Cross Armbreaker. Winner - Deonna Purrazzo via Standing Cross Armbreaker at 16:35

(Exc) This is going to be another great night of wrestling and we will open with Hikaru Shida facing Kris Statlander and your referee is Bryce Remsburg.
Match #1: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Hikaru Shida vs Kris Statlander (30 minute TL) Statlander opens the match with a few irish whips into the corners before hitting a snapmare on Shida. Statlander keeps the momentum going with another irish whip into the corner before hitting Shida with a series of punches then a running dropkick. Shida starts her comeback and hits a series of submissions then hits Statlander with an arm drag and running knee. Statlander kicks out of the pin attempt at 1. Shida hits another series of running knees but again Statlander kicks out at 1. Statlander throws Shida out of the ring and hits an over the top rope cross body out of the ring. After getting back in the ring the ladies trade blows ending with Kris hitting a suplex slam on Shida. Statlander manages to hit a worn down Shida with The Big Bang Theory to end the opening match. Winner - Kris Statlander via The Big Bang Theory at 16:21 [100% and 5 Star Rating!]
Match #2: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Bekkah Savage vs Jamie Hayter (30 minute TL) Next up we have the young “Wolf Heart” Bekkah Savage facing off against Jamie Hayter in our second match of the night, Aubrey Edwards is our referee. The technically sound Savage comes out hot against Hayter having the advantage in the opening minutes. However Hayter gets control and hits a moonsault, but Savage kicks out from the pin and starts working on Hayter’s back.Savage starts hitting more power moves as she tries to wear down Hayter. Whenever Hayter gets the chance she hits Savage with her moonsault. Savage throws Hayter out of the ring and they brawl outside with Hayter eventually getting the upper hand after a spinning neckbreaker. Hayter hits a running crossbody on Savage but she kicks out, Hayter goes for the moonsault again and Savage kicks out again. Bekkah Savage starts to gain the advantage but as she goes for her finisher, the Fate Driver, Hayter rolls her up for the win. Winner - Jamie Hayter via Roll Up Pin at 14:25
Segment 2: [Jamie Hayter heads for the back of the arena while interviewer Renee Paquette approaches the ring to speak with Bekkah Savage]. (RP) Bekkah you had an incredible match with Jamie Hayter, this is your first match in an international promotion, how do you feel? (BS) How do I feel? How the FUCK do I feel? I SHOULD HAVE WON THAT MATCH. My shoulder was up the entire time she “pinned” me. Had Aubrey done her job I would have fucking won, but instead we have an incompetant ref out there. [Savage shoves her way past Paquette and heads for the back] (RP) Well, back you Excalibur and Beth.
Match #3: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Viper vs Shanna (30 minute TL) (Excalibur) Well after that we do have to follow up with our next match. It’ll be Scotland’s Viper facing off with Portugal’s Perfect Athlete, Shanna next. The bigger and stronger Viper takes the advantage right out of the gate. Anytime Shanna tries to take advantage Viper snuffs it out. After an airplane spin and a few groin shots, Shanna finally sets up her comeback after an exchange of punches. Shanna hits Viper with a super kick then a few moments later a running forearm but cannot get a pin. Viper snuffs out Shanna’s offense after hitting her with a running powerslam and getting a two count on the pin. After the pin Shanna gets Viper into the corner and hits her with sliced bread for a two count. Viper ends up running into the referee and uses that time to take advantage with a suplex and some not so clean shots on Shanna. Viper gets another two count on Shanna once the ref gets back up. Shanna finally gets her comeback going once again and uses her momentum to hit Viper with a moonsault but Viper kicks out. After a quick knee to Shanna, Viper hits her with a splash from the top rope to end the match. Winner - Viper via Diving Body Press at 20:57
Match #4: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Tenille Dashwood vs Riho (30 minute TL) The third match of the night see’s the Japanese sensation Riho face off with Tenille Dashwood. Tenille and Riho start feeling each other out to start the match. They exchange strikes and small and technical grapples for the first few minutes. Dashwood takes the advantage after a dropkick to Riho’s knees. Riho finally hits Tenille with a tilt a whirl ddt but Dashwood kicks out at just before 3. However Dashwood gets up and hits Riho with a powerbomb but can't gain back the advantage. Riho and Tenille trade large moves and nearfalls for the next few minutes. Riho hits Dashwood with a running knee, then dropkick, then the double stomp to end the match. Winner - Riho via Super Diving Foot Stomp at 12:29
Match #5: Starlight GP, Round of 32 Match; Kana vs Nevaeh (30 minute TL) In our Semi-Main event we have Kana facing off with Nevaeh and Bryce Remsburg is our referee. Nevaeh comes out to the ring solo as her tag team partner, Jessicka Havok, is getting ready for the main event against Shotzi Blackheart. The lack of Nevaeh having her second doesn’t immediately play to her determinant. Both ladies go back and forth for the first five minutes until Kana takes control with a series of kicks. However not long after Nevaeh takes contro. But minutes later Kana hits a series of kicks and gets a near fall. At this point the lack of Havok being ringside starts to hurt Nevaeh. Kana works over her arm for the final few minutes and in a lapse Nevaeh gets tripped up and rolled up by Kana to end the match. Winner - Kana via Japanese Leg Roll Clutch at 17:57
Segment 5: Main Event Preview (Exc) What a match we just had between those two and now it comes to our main event tonight and the final match of the Starlight Grand Prix’s first round. Starlight Grand Prix, Night 7: November 17th, 2020 (The Coliseum - Sioux Falls, SD)
Segment 1: Opening Hello everyone welcome to Starlight Ring as we come to you from the historic Coliseum in Sioux Falls, SD! My name is Excalibur and along side me as always is Beth Phoenix. Tonight is the second of three nights in the Round Robin portion of the Starlight Grand Prix. (Beth) Yes it is and we have two great matches to finish the night as Jamie Hayter faces Nikki Storm in our Semi Main-Event and Viper does battle with Yuka Sakazaki in our main event. (Exc.) Yes they do and in our main event we have some high stakes on the line as the winner of that match secures their place in the Starlight Grand Prix final in two weeks. But before that lets head to the ring for our first match; As Tokyo Cyber Squad faces off with Jordynne Grace and Shayna Baszler.
Match #1 Tokyo Cyber Squad vs Jordynne Grace & Shayna Baszler (30 minute TL) Winner - Grace/Baszler after Jordynne Grace pins Jungle Kyona via Michinoku Driver II at 27:53
Segment 2:
Taya Valkyrie comes out on stage first after the babyface team of Statlander, Bates, and Shanna are already in the ring. "Cut the music because this needs to be heard. I have the same partners I had last week and everyone at home saw how good we were together. And NONE of us were given a chance until we partnered together last week. So as of NOW we have formed a new group to give the three best and most beautiful women in Starlight Ring an actual chance in this company. We are TCS, Temptation, Charm, and Seduction. Three things only we have." (Excalibur) Wow I mean they had an impressive debut last week but I was not expecting this to happen. (Beth) To be fair I'm not really sure anyone was expecting this.

(Excalibur) "There's Nyla Rose! She isn't scheduled to be here tonight or even at all in Sioux Falls!" As Hojo is leaning on the ropes facing Kana, Nyla comes running at Kairi and hits her with a running forearm. This bounces Hojo of the ropes and backwards. Nyla picks Hojo up and hits her with a sitout powerbomb and yells "You know what you did and you know why you deserve this!" Nyla leaves the ring and walks down the same exit as Kana. (Beth) "That was completely unnecessary by Nyla Rose and I hope we find out why she did that." After this Kairi Hojo is helped out of the ring and down the other exit by the ring attendants.
