But doesn't rule out future DLC or even a 3D wrestling game down the line. He doesn't even close the door completely on a future Fire Pro, saying you wouldn't have believed you could have gotten a new one after 13 years to begin with. But for Fire Pro World, official development ends here. www.famitsu.com/news/202008/07203385.htmlWe did good, my friends. I'm very happy and very proud. And if that 3D game ever sees the light of day, we'll do good again. Also, the game is ours now.

Grrr I was expecting some Twitter post declaring when they were done. I feel a bit confused. There's a remote chance of future dlc but no chance of further updates/bug fixes?

Bit confused of what to make of google translate
Matsumoto I've been working hard to do that, so I'm really looking forward to it. We may be able to make small additions as long as the budget and timing are met, so I'd be happy if you could continue to play while expecting such surprises.
Other parts of the interview seem to say they are done but its hard to understand with clarity and the tone of how things are meant.

And before anyone thinks "3D Game = KOC3!", Matsumoto specifically states it's not King of Colosseum.
It's also a purely hypothetical game, too, so don't harrass him on Twitter about it...until at least this time next year.

Yeah, whereas the KOC games were licensed I think a 3D Fire Pro would continue to use the SWA-verse equivalent facsimile characters from Fire Pro. I do like that instead of leaving off saying the final nail is in the coffin for Fire Pro, he leaves off with; always the possibility of another one down the road.
EDIT: When they were in the early stages of Fire Pro Wrestling World development, Matsumoto also mentioned they experimented with moving the game 3D. I'd really be interested in seeing any screenshots or conceptualization graphics of what they were experimenting with for a 3D Fire Pro.

If it's basically a 3D version of World with all the customization (and more venues dammit) then that would be amazing. Oh I know it's hypothetical and probably will never happen but to have epic 6/8-man tags in 3D would blow my mind.
Hopefully we'll get that DDT DLC at some point.
Still, I'm so happy we got another great Fire Pro game after all this time. The NJPW license was just the icing on the CRITICAL! cake for me.

With both part craft and move craft being a thing there really isn't any need for more updates other than bug fixes, so fair enough. World, even without those things, is still the best Fire Pro ever made and I'll be forever grateful :)

FPW is an excellent game and the clear best of the series. The past few years was a struggle for the development team but they managed to persevere as best as they could. I was happy in the first few months of 2020 for what Fire Pro had turned into. They gave us a few recent surprises like the excellent STARDOM packs.
Then they went and gave us Move Craft and Parts Craft and blew the entire roof off of the entire game forever.
Between those DLC's and Mod packs, Fire Pro is now exactly what it represents: infinite customization and replay value.
They never need to do anything else. This game has been given eternal life 🔥
I'm ecstatic as to the experiences that we've had over the past few years and what is to come with FPW.
Like PhilParent said: "Also, the game is ours now." That says everything right there 👏
P.S. My interest is super piqued at the fact they even acknowledged future DLC and a 3D game 😁

Ive been playing wrestling games for 35 years and FPWW is by far the best wrestling game Ive played. Not an exaggeration. Ive had a very challenging 2020 , so I haven't been putting everything into this game, but now Im ready to. Ive barely just scratched the surface. Cant wait to get into the move craft and parts craft. I did get both Stardom packs and love em. Also I got the NJPW story mode.
I NEVER get dlc for any game, but I really wanted to support this. So , if they never did another one, I have a pro wrestling game I can plays for years and years. My hats off to the devs who crafted this amazing game and to the community that makes this great game even better. Cheers!!

Given I kept coming back to Fire Pro Returns at least once or twice a year for a good month or two, combined with the INSANE amount of customisation, I'll be playing this forever. Think about it, if someone debuts in the real world in three years time with a completely unique look and brand new moves we can still have a super-accurate version of him/her in this game within a week... in an arena that looks like an actual promotion. With the correct entrance music. Absolute insanity.
My only wish is a Royal Rumble mode where you can continue playing after your eliminated. The existing Rumble mod is fantastic, but as I'm one of the few who actually play the game rather than watch, the fun ends once I'm eliminated. Still though, I'm still grateful and amazed at the mod we have, so it's no biggie really. It's the reason I returned to the PC version after jumping to the PS4 for convenience, and I had no issues buying the DLC twice either. I've already gotten my money's worth several times over.
Long live Fire Pro!

Im sort of pissed. I know its a bit unreasonable, but what they've done with fire pro world has been incredible but I feel like so much has been left on the table. Even just a one night event maker which im flabbergasted never got included. Returns had it but didnt allow edits. The boneheadedness in its absence is so confusing to me cause it goes hand in hand with the sandbox nature of the games. Freaking vpw2 had it even. I dont think it would have been hard to patch in. That along with official arena craft and we would have been set. The move craft really did go above and beyond though.
I dont blame him cause I know it was all a painful process. Just disappointed cause I feel like these other things were just inches away. I expected his statement to coincide with one final bug patch or something. Sorry for moping.

Anyone ever asked someone in an official capacity about open sourcing the game? Now that'd be something (...that they'd never do, but still, one can dream).

Hopefully we'll get that DDT DLC at some point. Oh yes please. I've bought EVERY DLC supporting them along the way. And I've bought some of them for my friends just because. When this game came out I was like..."How did I even PLAY Fire Pro R?" And with every update I was like..."How did I play this game before?" I knew things would be great when they did the patch with the Slingblade move right away. Everything was so great all along the way, and now the Parts and Move Crafts and just producing tons of amazing stuff to play with. I've pretty much got everything I wanted from this besides multiman Royal Rumble style match types. Even the little things like no more bumping into the turnbuckles, they just go into them, primed for a corner move! It's amazing!
