This is supposed to be the last DLC, but I wouldn't be surprised if we got additional story modes or licensed promotions. Thinking that the fact we do get this free DLC means the game and its DLC did okay in termes of sales.

its pretty wild that they have been fairly on the mark with the dlc release schedule this year. totally contrary to how all the past dlc was Oh, yeah, but I get why the schedule slipped so badly after the PS4 release - the PS4 port had a myriad of problems, with the biggest one being that people's save data would be erased if they downloaded too many edits. And just a variety of performance issues, from poor netcode to random crashes in-game. The day-one patch for the US version, which was like the fourth or fifth update for the Japanese one, actually screwed up the framerate somehow! The PS4 version was, without a doubt, an absolute mess and people raked Matsumoto over the coals for it. Especially when he said that the original Early Access development team also left the game code in a bad state, with bugs that went unfixed for months and some serious spaghetti code, necessitating the PS4 dev team to work harder on the game in the first place. He's even said that, had Taichi not reached out to him, he would have just given up well before we've gotten to the point we're at now.

If they want to squeeze a few more dollars out of this they should make some kind of arena craft DLC.

With Parts Craft and now Move Craft, theoretically you can make anyone you want from other promotions that have a good relationship with the current Spike Chunsoft staff, like DDT. It seems like the final chapter of the book, only for them to hand us a second, blank journal, as if to tell us to write our own second volume as a fanbase.

I'm very excited about the fact this is actually coming, still going to be free, and will be released Soon™ 😁
I also think that I'll be pretty bad at making it work (and probably not crash lol) until 1) someone puts out a very clear companion guide to Spike's guide (which will likely be confusing in some places in the same way that "discretion" threw people for a loop for like 30 years) and 2) I pour some serious time into getting comfortable with it.
I'll probably start by modifying simpler and quicker moves (like standing strikes) just to get a feel of the engine.
Is this going to be a free DLC or just an update/patch to the game that we don't have to do anything to get?

Is this going to be a free DLC or just an update/patch to the game that we don't have to do anything to get? Standing strikes are actually trickier than a lot of moves because you have to animate them in three directions and have them all look consistent and like the same move. If you have a similar move (in terms of how the animation would look) to base it off of, though, it will help. Grappling strikes are more straightforward because they only have to look good once - not two or three times - since they're only seen from one angle, and frames for any strike you can think of (or something close to it) probably already exist somewhere for reference. I currently have a lot of basic strikes and splices planned. After that, a few moves I can "transpose" using existing frames from other moves as a base. If I get good at all that, I'll move on to genuinely custom stuff. The actual first things I do will just be existing moves sped up or (more likely) slowed down - literally no custom animating at all. And I want this stuff anyway - if you've seen me talk about wanting more generic utilitarian edit parts, you won't believe how generic and utilitarian of moves I wanna make. I haven't actually used the program itself at all, I've just been analyzing the existing moves and brainstorming a LOT. I'm very, very interested in this "dlc," or feature, or whatever you want to call it. Move creation is kind of the holy grail for me as far as wrestling games customizability goes.

Ohh, very good point about the standing strikes. I suppose running strikes could be like that too.
Safer for me to start with grapple strikes or, like you said, modifying the speed of existing moves.
I'd love to modify the timing of the delayed STO to give it even more impact.
I'd also like to combine some of the weaker moves to make a medium move.
For example: Arm Twist into the Elbow to arm move (with like 2-3 repeated elbows) would make a pretty cool combo move. Elbow to knee into the dragon screw would look great too.
I also want to make a KOC-like "weak" powerbomb clutch with the double axe handle in the powerbomb position. We could really do a ton to visually set up end of match moves that don't already have adequate set-up moves.

I think my learning moves are mostly going to be trying to make better piledrivers Or at least ones that don't involve a crazy 180 spin on impact
But man do I have a list for once it clicks

That director-made move looks pretty complicated. A good sign, if you ask me.

Yeah, I'm guessing he animated the Stu Hart Special for a reason, lol.

I kinda wanna make that into a hold. Also, this is apparently SUPER FUCKING IMMINENT. Edit: looks like that would've been around midnight for them, so...possibly TODAY.

Seeing combo clincher as a editable move is pretty exciting. If you had two edits with a special or a finisher (set to pin after) set as a combo clincher, it would make those exchanges a lot more interesting.
