No show this week. Gonna have to rethink my schedule as school starts up for work in a week and for myself in two weeks. Not sure how that's gonna go until I figure out a routine. So possible hiatus on the horizon.

CWC is officially on hiatus until at least December. School is killer this semester I recorded matches for the next UCW I hoped to post this past Saturday but I didn't even have time to trim the videos. So I am going to push everything down the road until I have some time again.
I will still be around and my edits are still available to work elsewhere. I just ask if you would ask before using. For those that are already making regular appearances elsewhere can continue to do so.
EDIT: Edits that don't currently have work that I would like to see get some more.
Mallard, Cody, Megastar. Surf Club. Caesar's Empire. Steve Faulkner. Vlad Guerrero Jr. Giant Raven, White Tiger.
Hardcore: Vlad Guerrero, Ben Brutus, Grimm.
Shoot: Mr Muay Thai, Yan Machado.
Note: My edits seem to be good at putting on a good match and losing. So if that's what your looking for I unintentionally got the enhancement talent.

Don't worry, real life can come up and hit us all in the face. Gotta take care of the top priorities first. I'll certainly be happy to keep members of your roster in action in the mean time, and we'll be there when you're ready to run again.

Indeed, we've all been there many a time. It's frustrating but a hiatus is the right thing to do.
Hope that everything goes smoothly with your RL priorities, faulknasty 😎

I decided to spend some spare time on a google doc doing a write up on the UCW rankings. I would just write up on a few fighters here and there sometimes 3 at time sometimes days between doing single ones so my writing may be inconsistent but I tried my best to vary it up but keep it consistant. The rankings are currently are set up by current record. The first tie breaker was opponents record but mostly separating the weak ones from strong. This settled almost all placings for a few that were settled by rankings of opponents. (I didn't want to rely too much on this as the rankings are too easy yo shift right now.) Currently fighter have to have 3 wins to be ranked and that will move up to 4 at a certain time in the future I have in mind. These rankings are pretty close to being solid so after UCW 10 rankings, the rankings will be based more on the fighters current record and the quality of those opponents. I also get into a little bit about rematches for titles and Alright now that all my unnecessary prefacing is done, I want to announce I am attempting to get UCW running again soon since its easy to do and the rankings write will do all the preview writing to address the stakes of the match. So I hopefully will have a card up soon for UCW 9. So lets get to those rankings. (edit: got some weird spacing issues and its gonna break too much if I try to fix it. So its not perfect but its fine)
Champion: Mr Muay Thai
W: 10 Van Horne, 20 Bergeron, 9 Machado, 1 Roy Carter
L: 3 Valdez
The newly crowned CWC Combat Wrestling champ is the masked Muay Thai master Mr Muay Thai. In the lone UCW match at the CWC Supershow, Mr Muay Thai took three rounds to knock out the previously undefeated, and perceived unbeatable champ, Roy Carter. The future for Mr Muay is likely Ricky Valdez who is the lone L in Mr Muay Thai's UCW record and in the top 5 of the UCW rankings or King Felix III the lone member of the top 5 without a loss. If Mr Muay Thai survives his first defense he's likely looking at a rematch with #1 ranked Carter who under UCW rules must win a match against a top 10 opponent before getting a rematch for the title.
#1. Roy Carter (Warrior Pro)
W: 19 Rodrigues, 9 Machado, 3 Valdez, 2 Manatì
L: C. Mr Muay Thai
Former champ Roy Carter is the #1 ranked UCW fighter even coming off a loss in his first title defense. Carter has a win over the next two ranked fighters and his lone loss is to the current champ, Mr Muay Thai. Carter will need a win over a top ten opponent to get another shot at a title match so Mr Muay Thai will have to have one successful defense if it's to be a rematch. With UCW being on monthly cycles for matches Carter and Mr Muay Thai were going to set out the next two cards but the CWC hiatus has everything up in the air when it comes to upcoming cards. So all we know is that Carter's next match will be against a top 10 opponent. Against the current top 10, Carter already has 3 wins.
#2. El Manatì
W: 15 Monroe, 12 Tomasi, 4 Dragunov
L: 1 Carter
The unconventional lucha combat style has El Manatì in the #2 spot of UCW rankings. Manatì lost in the inaugural championship fight against Roy Carter. With his win over Timor Dragunov, Manatì was able to hold onto the #2 spot but Ricky Valdez;s win over new champ Mr Muay Thai gives him the higher profile win needed to pass Manatì in the next rankings. Manatì is also behind Carter for another title match. Manatì is likely going to need wins over two more top 10 opponents if he hopes to get another title match soon.
#3 Ricky Valdez (UCSS)
W: 18 Faulkner, C. Mr Muay Thai, 11 Aldren
L: 1 Carter
Originally scheduled to fight King Felix III in #1 contenders match, #3 ranked Ricky Valdez is the one fighter who has a win over champ Mr Muay Thai. Valdez may not get his #1 contender match after the CWC hiatus wiped the UCW 9 card to be rescheduled at a later time but he is likely to benefit the most. With his win over Mr Muay Thai and a top 3 ranking, Valdez would be next in line to challenge the champ if there is no contender match. Roy Carter, according to UCW rules, has to win another match against a top 10 contender to get his rematch, and Valdez, with his win over Mr Muay Thai, now has a higher signature win than #2 El Manatì. (Rankings were set before the title match at the CWC Supershow and other than the title change are not reflected in the rankings.) Valdez is the lone fighter who might benefit from the hiatus even if he doesn’t he definitely won’t be any worse off.
#4 Timor Dragunov (AAW)
W: 19 Rodrigues, 13 RNA, UR Barrett
L: 2 Manatì
MMA monster Timor Dragunov has powered his way to the #4 spot. While Dragunov wins do not look impressive at first both RNA and Iceman Barrett are stronger than their rankings show. RNA is one of the three ranked fighters that have a win over a higher ranked opponent. Barrett is unranked due to having had too few matches but is also RNA’s only other loss. While he is in reach of a title fight, Dragunov’s lone loss to Manatì does put the title shot at a distance as either Ricky Valdez or King Felix III and Roy Carter are most likely the next two title shots.
#5 King Felix III (PCP)
W: 16 Omar, 15 Monroe
L:
D: UR Bosch
The lone remaining undefeated in UCW fighter comes in at #5, King Felix III. The CWC hiatus could possibly hurt Felix the most. Originally scheduled to have a #1 contender match with Ricky Valdez, a cycle reset could put Valdez in a title match and Felix may have to fight Roy Carter for a title match. (Carter needs a win against a top 10 opponent before getting his rematch). A closer glance at Felix’s opponents shows that maybe his record is deceiving. His lone mark outside of the win column is a draw against the worst currently unranked fighter, Victor Bosch. (Bosch needs three fights to be ranked.) Felix’s two wins are against opponents with losing records who only have wins over the bottom of the rankings. No matter who Felix fights next, we will finally find out if he is worthy of his rank or not.
#6 Ernest Miller (SWA)
W: 17 Sokolov, UR Bosch
L: 1 Carter
The most questionable ranking has to be Ernest Miller at #6. While his only loss is to #1 Roy Carter, Miller’s wins come against opponents who combine for one win. Little of the blame can be placed on Miller for this though. Miller lost to Carter at UCW 1 and then due to an injury in his home Federation SWA. Missing a month of UCW caused Miller to be matched up with lower ranked opponents with similar records. The win over Victor Bosch is also limited as Bosch missed a match at UCW 5 because he also suffered an injury in SWA, his home federation, too. So like Bosch’s other opponent, King Felix III, we will find out if Miller is overrated with his next fight.
#7 Adrienne Turney
W: 8 Sterling, UR Camacho
L: 14 Worthy
D: 12 Tomasi
Boxing specialist Adrienne Turney is the #7 ranked fighter. Turney had a rough start losing to Byron Worthy in UCW 1 and is likely why she has fallen just behind Ernest Miller. Since than Turney has not lost and in her second match beat #8 Leona Sterling. In her last match, Turney lightened the damage of her loss to Worthy by beating unranked Ababa Camacho who had beat Worthy in her previous match. Turney was scheduled to fight official UCW member #2 ranked El Manatì at UCW 9 before the hiatus where a win would have moved her within reach of a title contender. We will have to wait to see if Turney will still get a chance to prove herself as a title contender.
#8 Leona Sterling (Proving Ground)
W: 19 Rodrigues, 12 Tomasi
L: 7 Turney
D: 16 Omar
The fastest rising stock in UCW belongs to #8 Leona Sterling. After a draw in her first match, a loss to Adrienne Turney left Sterling in a match to in a battle of winless fighter against Sophia Rodrigues. After her first win in UCW, Sterling was in a fight between 1-1-1 fighters against Jamie Tomaso where a loss would have left her in the bottom 5. Sterling catapulted from the bottom of UCW to a too ten ranking. Sterling's next fight will determine whether her hot streak can continue or if her stock will come crashing down.
#9 Yan Machado
W: 20 Bergeron, 10 Van Horne
L: 1 Carter, C. Mr Muay Thai
UCW youngster from Brazil, Yan Machado, comes in at #9. Machado debuted in UCW injuring the veteran Mackenzie Bergeron (possibly why he hasn't won a match in UCW). With his two losses coming against the two champions, Machado solidified his top 10 spot with a win over Keith Horne. Machado is a rising star in UCW, and very likely, as long as he stays healthy, a future champion.
#10 Keith Van Horne (Wrestle Parade)
W: 18 Faulkner, 16 Omar
L:C. Mr Muay Thai, 9 Machado
Popular Amateur turned pro wrestler Keith Van Horne rounds out the top 10. Van Horne's opponents record reflects his middle ranking with losses against top ten opponents and wins over bottom five opponents. It's hard to know what Van Horne's future in UCW is. Van Horne's next scheduled fight was Candace Monroe which would only give Van Horne another bottom five win.
#11 Lamont Aldren (Wrestle Parade)
W: 19 Rodrigues, 14 Worthy
L: 13 RNA, 3 Valdez
The last .500 record fighter is Lamont Aldren at #11. Aldren has an up and down career in UCW. After getting what was considered an upset victory over Byron Worthy after losing to RNA, Aldren had a chance to be at the top of rankings and was paired against Ricky Valdez to prove he belonged at the top. Unfortunately, Aldren ended up like many of Valdez’s opponents and was knocked down the rankings. Aldren, like his tag partner Keith Van Horne, is out to prove he is better than his .500 record shows.
#12 Jamie Tomasi (UCSS)
W: 17 Sokolov
L: 2 Manatì, 8 Sterling
D: 7 Turney
Young BJJ specialist Jamie Tomasi finds himself at #12. Tomasi's victory comes in the lone submission only match in UCW 1. Since then he has faced three top 10 opponents losing to two and going to a draw with one. Tomasi has the talent but he hasn't been able to turn it into victories in the UCW and he needs a win against anybody if he wants to stay in the rankings much longer.
#13 Ruthless Nicole Alger (UCSS)
W: 11 Aldren
L: 4 Dragunov, UR Barrett
D: 14 Worthy
Daughter of a champion fighter, Limbtaker Ruthless Nicole Alger falls in at #13. RNA is one of most underrated fighters in UCW. With a win over a higher ranked fighter, Lamont Aldren, and her losses against two fighters with one loss. When RNA was given a fight against the other underrated fight Byron Worthy that fight ended in a draw so neither were able to prove they were underrated. RNA needs a win in her next fight to prove she has been underrated.
#14 Byron Worthy (Warrior Pro)
W: 7 Turney
L: UR Camacho, 11 Aldren
D:13 RNA
Underrated wrestler Byron Worthy comes in at #14. Worthy started off UCW with a big win in a grappler versus striker match against Adrienne Turney but has struggled ever since. The concern could be the after match attack Ababa Camacho committed after her win. Camacho was suspended for nearly two months, but Worthy suffered what many have considered an upset to Lamont Aldren. Worthy was only able to manage a draw in the battle of the underrated fighters with RNA. Worthy needs to recover from his post match attack if he hopes to join tag partner Roy Carter at the top of the rankings.
#15 Candace Monroe (Proving Ground)
W: 18 Faulkner
L: 2 Manatì, 5 Felix
Limbtaker Candace Monroe falls in at #15. Monroe lost out on a match being switched over to the first show of the month to be separated from teammate RNA. Having the set back on having a short resume is hurting Monroe the most. Monroe's two losses are to top five opponents but her lone win is against the low ranked underperforming Eliza Faulkner. No matter who they are, Monroe will easily helped by getting another win against whoever her next opponent. Monroe just needs a longer resume to prove who she is.
#16 Anwar Omar (PAW)
W: 20 Bergeron
L: 5 Felix, 10 Van Horne
D: 8 Sterling
Somalian Survivor Anwar Omar comes in at #16. Omar started with a tie against Leona Sterling which started out looking like a spot on his record before the two fighters' stocks have gone in opposite directions. After picking up a win against bottom of the rankings Mackenzie Bergeron, Omar has dropped two straight fights which could be helped by being against top 10 opponents. Desperate for a win, If Omar loses a third straight he could fall from the rankings.
#17 Zilya Sokolov
W: 19 Rodrigues
L: 12 Tomasi, 6 Miller
Sambo expert Zilya Sokolov limps on to the #17 spot. Sokolov started her UCW career with an injury against Jamie Tomasi in the only ever UCW submission only match. After a loss against Ernest Miller, Sokolov picked up her first in a battle of the victorless match against the struggling Sophia Rodrigues. Still an unknown, Sokolov only has three matches on tape and a loss against a tough opponent as she was coming back from injury. Sokolov's next match will allow us to see how talented she really is.
#18 Eliza Faulkner
W: 20 Bergeron
L: 3 Valdez, 10 Van Horne, 15 Monroe
The reason UCW exists, Eliza Faulkner is all the way down at #18. When talking about the UCW rankings, a fighters performance outside of the federation shouldn't matter but Faulkner is undefeated in UCSS singles and tag fights, her lone loss coming in a multi-man match after an injury. While she is making her way towards a title match in UCSS, Faulkner is close to falling out of the rankings here in UCW. Faulkner started out 0-3 in UCW and her only victory comes against her coach, bottom of the rankings Mackenzie Bergeron. Faulkner needs to take what she's doing in UCSS and bring it to UCW and turn her first win into a long win streak.
#19 Sophia Rodrigues (SWA)
W:
L: 4 Dragunov, 11 Aldren, 8 Sterling, 17 Sokolov
SWA Prestige Champion Sophia Rodrigues is winless at #19. Another fighter who's performances outside of the UCW do not match up at all with her performances inside UCW. Rodrigues is winless in UCW and there isn't much to say about that. Her SWA title happened during the CWC hiatus so hopefully she can bring those winning ways to UCW and start to climb the rankings.
#20 Mackenzie Bergeron (UCSS)
W:
L: 9 Machado, 16 Omar, C. Mr Muay Thai, 18 Faulkner
Bottom of the list is the catch wrestler and unlikely coach Mackenzie Bergeron. Bergeron has just had a rough go in UCW, winless in fouratvhes. In his first match, Bergeron suffered a knee injury against Yan Machado and hasn't appeared to recover. In his last outing, Bergeron lost to his student Eliza Faulkner, who while successful in UCSS was winless in UCW. Bergeron will fall out the rankings the next time they come out but right now he needs to worry more about getting his first win.
Unranked:
Iceman Barrett (PCP), Anaba Camacho (UCSS), Victor Bosch (SWA)
All the unranked fighters are one fight away from being ranked. Iceman Barrett and Ababa Camacho, as long as she does not attack a fighter post match again, are guaranteed a spot on the ranking. Victor Bosch who is winless so far would earn a spot with a win. Barrett was given an unusual chance to run up the rankings with a win over RNA but a loss to Timor Dragunov knocked him down some. Camacho is hurting from a suspension and would have already been ranked if she had not attacked Byron Worthy after her win. A loss to Turney will mean a lower spot on the rankings for her. Bosch started out with a tie against King Felix III and after an injury in SWA Bosch lost to fellow SWA fighter Miller making his chances of being ranked less of a guarantee. As for the future, there two more fighters are to be debuting at the next UCW show and CWC/UCW have been working on bringing in more of their own contracted fighters and making more cross promotion deals to bring over more fighters. So the future is still bright for UCW.

Finally got around to watching everything in full here and writing up my impressions. (took me long enough....) Anwar really managed to mess with Anaba's approach, as he often does in his matches, but you can only spoil so long before the foe gets their shots in. By Round 3, Camacho managed to finally get a few suplexes in, but Omar's goal to survive every situation worked out as it went the distace, albeit, with Anaba ragdolling away near the end.
Jamie Tomasi's been stepping up big as of late, that Thiago Gracie BJJ training kicking in more and more. Lamont seemed to have trouble out of the gate, starting slow, and not countering enough, paying a price late with the Thiago Style Armbar finishing things up for a huge win. I bet that doesn't quite go down like that if they faced off again, though.
Now RNA vs Machado was fun, started out much more evenly than either of the other matches, we get a ref bump, some big kicks, back and forth action, and a big ground and pound finish! Good stuff.
Poor, poor Leona just got rolled by the big lucha machine. Manati is no Dos Caras Jr, he's as comfortable in any sort of fighting situation, and winning with the classic El Santo finisher? That's dominance.
I'm happy to see Valdez using my favorite attire of his here, and he was certainly up to his old antics from the opening bell, thumbing the eyes, low blows, kicks to the face of a downed opponent? All favorite techniques of Violence Valdez. And that finish? Ouch. The street fighting, alphabet champion boxer has never looked better!
RNA vs Machado was far and away the best overall match, with Valdez and Manati both looking like a million bucks in their respective bouts. All in all, a fun one, for sure, the matches go by lightning fast under the ruleset.

This time, I'm on top of this, heh The Bergeron-Chung Hee match was awesome! Mackenzie looked like a million bucks and busted Hu's leg there, but Chung Hee's toughness kept him in the match and he still manages to pull off the win! That's how you keep your focus even through adversity.
Huge lariat right at the end of the second and third round for Fuji certainly didn't make things easy for Zilya, but her speed advantage kept this from being a blowout for the big man. Her mat skills though, let her not just survive, but thrive, finishing with that devastating armbar! One heckova finish there, and a win that should absolutely enhance her resume.

I will still check in occasionally on them. For those who would like just send me a message and I'll get back to you eventually. I am about to get extra busy and have less time to do anything.
