I thought I’d share this concise rundown of attempts at WWE games versus the NES classic, Pro Wrestling (from a Vulture.com article) since I got a laugh out of it, “ Pro Wrestling (NES) The WWE is incapable of making a good pro-wrestling game. Every year, it wheels out an annualized new edition that explores profound new dimensions of baffling ineptitude. The latest, WWE 2K20, is so thoroughly riddled with bugs that it could legitimately be rated M for body horror. And yet, literally 30 years ago, Nintendo basically had it all figured out. 1987’s Pro Wrestling might be a little stiffer than what you can find on modern consoles, but it is professionally functional. You can reliably climb the turnbuckle without clipping into the skybox, and all the buttons do what they’re supposed to do. That actually counts as an improvement!” It’s from their top 20 Nintendo Switch online games list found here, www.google.ca/amp/s/www.vulture.com/amp/article/nintendo-switch-online-best-games-nes-snes.html

This is pretty cool. One of the people involved in the localization of Earthbound (MOTHER) outside of Japan had a previously wiped floppy disk (GASP!) mined for data and was able to recover a pile of cool shot about the game. This is pretty interesting even if you’re not a fan, but if you’re an Earthbound mark, it would probably be even cooler! Enjoy! gamehistory.org/earthbound-script-files/

I don't know what the 8.52 update did for the PS4 today, but my UI hasn't run this buttery smooth in years. I was actually thinking of doing a full system restore because of how chonky the UI has been running for me over the last year but it looks like it just may have been lack of optimization in the last few updates.

Wow 😲
I've seen a lot of Fire Pro and wrestling tribute videos over the years.
That one is one of the most incredible I've ever seen.
This guy must have spent hours just thinking this project up before actually spending even more putting it all together. The scenes, the editing, creating Move Maker techniques. It's poignant but also quite funny at times.
I loved the part at 1:24 when they showed the training that the young lions do in the New Japan ring!
Guerrero/Malenko rivalry was presented so well too and the WCW cruiserweight division.

So many pathetic attempts on my part to make the VPW roster in the AKI N64 games. This is great stuff!

Before No Mercy came out I had found a Geocities site with prerelease information to keep me excited. It also supplied CAWs for wrestlers that joined after release, like K-Kwik and Raven. The main thing I remember from it was a funny prerelease shot. It must have come from a point when it still had full entrances because it was a shot of what I assume was a default CAW at ringside but shown from behind. Being a bald white guy it could've been Austin as well but I doubt it because this guy didn't have any attire on him. Any. Not even tights. Yes, he was naked. It's too bad I lost that in a computer crash ages ago because it was a curious piece of history that I haven't ever seen again. Someone happened to post the picture in question on a Twitter account I follow. It's kinda funny seeing it again after all these years when I wasn't even expecting it. Technically NSFW for polygonal booty
