HEROES DE LUCHA
(PLACEHOLDER LOGO COBBLED TOGETHER FROM CLIPART)
(PLACEHOLDER LOGO COBBLED TOGETHER FROM CLIPART)
I keep forgetting to post this. This is my Luchalibre promotion in my FPW universe. I haven’t touched it since the end of 2017 when I took a long break after a family death and being super busy at work.
The game has changed so much since then that they mostly need reworking. Lots of usefull cross patterns, and a maybe a rose looking pattern for my matador.
Also not sure about theme songs. I didn’t bring the old ones over when I got my new laptop, and watching AAA on Dawnbr3k3r’s hosted streams has taught me that it’s okay for people to come out to a random medley of out of place music. :)
Back in the FPR days, it was my Robert Rodriguez / From Dusk til Dawn inspired promotion, but Lucha Underground is a thing now, so I tweaked it a bit for the FPWW generation.
So the current inspirations for the mood and aestethic are
- The occult
- Black magic
- Old religions
- The Mexican Day Of The Dead
- Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (especially the Dance of Gold from the soundtrack)
- Le Theatre des Vampires from the movie Interview With The Vampire
Especially in the sense that the crowd goes in expecting a fun show, only to end up terrified after witnessing a horrible supernatrial event
Now it’s the ultimate version of good vs evil. The heels are the epitome of evil, usualy based on religious or occult creatures. They should creep the crowd out, if they aren’t outright frightening them. The faces are all either holy warriors, or extremely straight laced with no gray area in between. The faces are usually at a huge disadvantage. I’m thinking all the christinaity based characters will use some form of crucifix move against the bad guys.
The old logo was a bit comic book style. The new one will be gothic, and the promotion colors are gold, red, and black.

Finisher:
Bio:
TECHNICOS
Name: ArcAngelo
Hometown: Teotihuacán, Mexico
Theme Song:
Finisher: A crucifix of some sort. So many options now that weren’t there before. :)
Bio: The arch angel and chosen holy warrior “ace” of Heroes de Lucha. But his run is starting to fall flat. He did everything ‘right’ to rise to the top, and fights the forces of evil with honor. But now he’s playing second fiddle to rookie Mateo Mariachi.
Name: Mateo Mariachi
Hometown:
Theme Song: Los Lobos - Canción Del Mariachi
Finisher Flipping Victor Cross Armbar
Bio: The unexpected breakout rookie star of HdL. He started working the mariachi singer gimmick, and tossing roses to the fans during the entrance. It took off more than expectd, and this heart throb is now the top draw of the promotion. Purists hate him because he’s attracting a teenage girl fanbase to the shows, who often faint while witnesses the heels brutally beat him down.
Name:Padre Perro
Hometown: Mexico... (notice a trend yet ;))
Theme Song:
Finisher:
Bio: Picture a Tommy Dreamer type figure mixed with Cheech Marin’s shotgun priest from Machete. Now mix in a little of the Harvey Keitel preacher in From Dusk Til Dawn. He’ll never be the top guy, but he fights the forces of evil with every last ounce of will he has. He has slowed recently after years of wild brawls. He specializes in stiff baptismal palm strikes.
Name: Cabellero Blanco (White Knight)
Hometown: Teotihuacán, Mexico
Theme Song: Santana - Soul Sacrifice
Finisher: Punch Stat 10
Bio: The ‘ace’ from generations gone by. It’s needless to say that the near 80 year old Cabellero Blanco is way past his prime. He’s kept on the roster both for name value, and to symbolize the eternal struggle between good and evil. He is almost exclusively booked in 3 or 4 way tags where he works rest holds and never leaves his feet. However, should he get his opponent on the ropes, his almighty fists (known as the Hammer of the Gods) are legendary. *(The tag logic update kind of nuked this guy. He got in, fell asleep on you with a shoulder lock, and got out).
Name: Eduardo Exotico
Hometown: Mexico
Theme Song:
Finisher:
Bio: This flamboyant rookie is known for his quick paced high flying moves, but isn’t afraid to engage in bloody brawls with the forces of evil.
Name: Golden Dragon
Hometown: Japan, Land of the BURNING Sun
Theme Song:
Finisher: Dragon’s Fire
Bio: There is a group of monks in Japan who run the Dragon’s Blood strong style wrestling promotion as a way to make money while they train up warriors in their monastary.
One day an orphan was left at their doorstep. They took him in as one of their own and trained him in their ways. He had a natural talent for puroresu and started stealing shows, much to the chagrin of fellow monks, who complain that he is yet to pay his dues.
After a violent incident in the locker room, he is being sent to Mexico on excursion to pay his dues.
There are rumors of a gargolye terrorizing the local lucha scene. Is this gargolye connected to the stone warrior of myth that attacked his clan of monks in generations previous? Clan prophecy dictates that a chosen one will rise up and defeat this stone warrior, brining a new age of prosperity to the clan.
Golden Dragon enters the promotion hoping to work his way up the ranks and defeat this gargoyle in a death match. He uses his stiff martial arts kicks and channels his chi into a bursts of fire from his mouth.
Name: Rosa Pantera
Hometown: Mexico
Theme Song:
Finisher:
Bio: WILL BE GETTING A GIMMICK CHANGE SOON TO BETTER FIT PROMOTION GIMMICK
Name: Sabina Solara
Hometown: Brazil
Theme Song:
Finisher: Sun Goes Up, Sun Goes Down (Nightmare of D)
Bio: Sabina Solara was a fan from day one. She’d watch whatever local promotions they could pick up on the rabbit ear antennae in the Brazillian favella neighbourhoods she grew up in. In her teen years she started attenting shows and conventions, where she discovered DVD collections of luchadora matches from up north in Mexico. That’s when she fell in love with the sport and knew what she wanted to do with her life. She moved to Mexico, completed her training, and now enters the promotion to battle the forces of evil like her heroines of yesteryear.
RUDOS
Name: El Diabloco
Hometown: Hell
Theme Song: .Goetcia.
Finisher: Eternal Damnation (standing choke), Hellfire
Bio: Picture Tim Curry in Legend as a wrestler who played the gimmick straight. He can not be booked to appear on any card. He must be summoned through blood sacrifice. His stable of minions must draw the blood of 3 wrestlers and offer it up before the arena goes dark and his music plays. He is mericless, doesn’t give an inch, and prefers to straight up choke the life out of his opponents.
Name: Reaper Ramirez
Hometown:
Theme Song:
Finisher: Guillotine / Scythe
Bio: Named after the Grim Reaper and Richard Ramirez, the Night Stalker. He viciously attacks the neck of his opponents, and uses his a scythe to bloody opponents.
Name: Nosferatu Nasgul
Hometown:
Theme Song: Lestat’s Recitive - Interview With The Vampire Soundtrack
Finisher: Vampire Bite (or the OrLock)
Bio: One of El Diabloco’s minions. As a vampire, he’s an expert at blood letting. He’s just not an expert at saving some for his master. He’s a sloppy brawler who ends his matches with his fangs.
Name: Morticia De La Morte
Hometown: Unknown
Theme Song:
Finisher: Soul Sacrafice (Soulful Powerbomb)
Bio: El Diabloco’s trusty old witch. She specializes in sacarficing luchadoras, and overseeing the summoning rituals used to get the dark one into the arenas. She’s an expert in various face buster moves and loves the sounds of desperation her opponents make in her romero special.
Name: Morticia
Hometown: Unknown
Theme Song:
Finisher:
Bio: El Diabloco’s trusty old witch. She specializes in sacarficing luchadoras, and overseeing the summoning rituals. Will have to update with new parts. But she was originally supposed to look like a cross between an azteca and a day of the dead attendee.
Name: Voodoo
Hometown: Parts Unknown, Louisiana
Theme Song:
Finisher: The Headshrinker claw hold
Bio: A stereotypical voodoo man gimmick, but played serious.
Name: Midnight Creeper
Hometown: ...Nearby
Theme Song: Rob Zombie - Meet The Creeper (Pink Pussy Mix)
Finisher: Poison Mist
Bio: A cross between the Mad Gasser of Matoon and people who call you up and breath into the phone. He chooses an opponent seemingly at random and stalks them until it’s time to show videos of private life up on the big screen. In the ring he works a very unorthodox style with strange holds such as the tarantula, and the octopus stretch.
Name: The Lead Men
Hometown: ????
Theme Song: Camille Saint-Saëns - Danse Macabre
Finisher: Take your Medicine! (Mandible Claw, Hand Over Face Pin, etc...)
Bio: No one knows who they are, what they are, or even how many they are. They appear at random and appear to force pills into the mouthes of their victims. Victims later report intense hallucinatory episodes followed by periods of missing time. Some have speculated that they might be in league with the Midnight Creeper due to their somewhat similar motives.
Name: GRiiiN - The Eerie Exotico
Hometown: Your closet
Theme Song: Silencio!
Finisher: Slender Bender
Bio: Ever silent. Ever watchful. Always smiling. The nightmarish figure that all exoticos fear. When Edurado looks at old family photos of birthday parties, or graduations, GRiiiN is ever present. Photos at wrestling school? GRiiiN is present.
Name: Gargoyle
Hometown: A Stone Perch
Theme Song:
Finisher: Spinning Frog Splash, Bat Hanging Lock
Bio: Did that statue on the stage? I think it moved.
That’s it for now. This promotion stalled out in 2017, and I outright deleted a bit of the roster who didn’t fit the new mold. But I have a few ideas for a gargoyle, and a priest character (somewhat inspired by the shotgun priest Cheech Marin played).
