I'd rather get All Japan or NOAH or even Big Japan over DDT. All Japan should have been required, as it's basically a classic All Japan sim. All Japan and NOAH have fallen so much, it's like they barely even exist anymore. It would be great to have a classic AJPW pack, but I guess we already do, music aside.

Just saw this on twitter. Isn't this the EXACT arena a few of us have mentioned as wanting?

Beyond the classic AJPW that Kings Road style has evolved and modern AJPW has adopted both its own style and the modern "Strong Heavyweight", which is the same as places like Zero 1, BJW and I guess NOAH now too. So like you've said the default game covers these bases quite well.
If DDT shows more entertainment moves are possible then I think a deathmatch promotion would be a nice rounding out of the different styles, be it with FREEDOMS or BJW. Though ANY new promotion DLC is a plus, be it classic or modern, just there being more would always be awesome.
EDIT: I'm at work and cant see that twitter post, so more arena choices are coming?

It's a picture of the current Stardom show. It's in that tiny arena from Returns that had the red ramp, floor mats, and no barriers. Classic FMW, AJPW, Big Japan and etc would be great. But I think they have almost 0 sales potential over here.

All anyone seems to talk about is NJPW, Stardom, Ice Ribbon, DDT anymore. NOAH just barely. AJPW never. I want my HUSTLE DLC dammit. Goldberg, Cactus Jack, etc. A poison mist to the crotch that spawns Akebono out of an egg. etc. Anyways, here is another limited release, Kagetsu vs Bea Priestley

They are certainly popular enough domestically to have existed as long as they have, all promotions have their following even if that promotion only relies on monthly kÅrakuen hall shows, random house shows to a few hundred fans and samurai TV production and coverage income to survive.
Is Dragon Gate still as popular as it was a decade ago? I haven't kept up with that promotion at all.

All Japan and NOAH have fallen so much, it's like they barely even exist anymore So what you're saying is you don't actually pay attention to Japanese wrestling anymore because both of those promotions are doing perfectly fine.

I haven't been watching NOAH much but All Japan is doing fine from what I've seen. Kento is a draw, brother NOAH is doing well enough that they've taken former freelancers and signed them on as full time talent, that much I know. It's cool seeing Minoru Tanaka still get work, for example.

This will be a good DLC.
I hope Sadie Gibbs is gonna be added.
I would also prefer BJW Over DDT, prob cause BJW is more Deathmatch then intergender wrestling.

Yeah, sorry DM_PSX, but AJPW is actually on the rebound and has been for the last three years or so.
NOAH has been doing better without needing the NJPW talent to prop them up.

Yeah guys, please don't take my comments out of context. I know they are still around and still making money, but their level or relevance has taken a huge hit. The biggest story to come out of NOAH in a decade was their ring mat changing color. They've been stuck with ownership and management restructuring bullshit for the last decade. Their TV deals got cancelled, and now they have monthly specials and have to rely on their streaming services.
It's like comparing WCW in 1998 when they were averaging 20,000-40,000 every week with a highly rated show, to 2001 when they averaged 2000 thousand attendance, had lost 3 quarters of their viewers, and had their PPV replaced on some carriers with replays of recent WWE events because they got more buys. It was dead a year before it was sold.
These promotions have been mostly treading water in that state for years now. AJPW had that "Pro Wrestling Love" era where it was a basically a indy level Mutoh vanity project.
It would be nice to see AJPW rise back to it's former level of prominence, even merge back with NOAH.
Got to see Bea Priestley last night on Fight For The Fallen. She seems to be signed to both AEW AND Stardom (where she holds the World Of Stardom title).

Yeah guys, please don't take my comments out of context. I know they are still around and still making money, but their level or relevance has taken a huge hit. Yeah, so did every other promotion in Japan in the post-PRIDE era. Only one of them has come back, does that mean the rest of the promotions in Japan don't exist anymore? The biggest story to come out of NOAH in a decade was their ring mat changing color. They've been stuck with ownership and management restructuring bullshit for the last decade. Their TV deals got cancelled, and now they have monthly specials and have to rely on their streaming services. No actually the biggest news story to come out of NOAH in a decade was New Japan trying to kill the company so they could get Marufuji, Nakajima and Go and then Marufuji selling the company from under New Japan's nose. NOAH is still on TV on Samurai and G+, the only show they lost was their weekly TV show...a decade ago. All Japan is still on GAORA and Samurai. Again...thanks for illustrating that you don't have a fucking clue. WCW wasn't averaging 40,000 fans in the buildings every week at any point. No promotion ever has. What the fuck are you talking about? These promotions have been mostly treading water in that state for years now. AJPW had that "Pro Wrestling Love" era where it was a basically a indy level Mutoh vanity project. Don't really think a promotion that outdrew New Japan at Korakuen in April of last year and a promotion that's well enough off financially to sign Shuji Ishikawa to an exclusive deal is a promotion 'treading water' but okay. NOAH regularly doing well at Korakuen and booking shows for the big EDION Arena in Osaka and running Ryogoku in November is a sign that they're doing really well right now but yeah let's ignore that. It would be nice to see AJPW rise back to it's former level of prominence, even merge back with NOAH. Yeah that'd be an absolute fucking disaster and once again, thanks for showing that you don't pay attention to Japanese wrestling at all beyond what you read other dumb motherfuckers saying on Reddit.

Regardless of the state of certain wrestling promotions over others and people's opinions of them (which honestly is not relevant in terms of this DLC discussion), we should be thankful that we're getting anything beyond NJPW for content to use in this game. Any promotion is good promotion for this game and the companies that choose to join in. Let's continue to hope for nice things.
