You asked about MMA. I'm saying you can use that template for regular MMA fighters. Just make them look normal and give them normal MMA moves.

I know I know, I just thought we could keep talking about MMA and not about boxing edits. I thank you again and I'm sure I gonna be making MMA edits in the future AND boxing ones.

Yep, the Wasteland is a tried and true format, and has produced some great stuff, I recommend working with that for sure.
I've got my own philosophy on MMA and varying schools of grappling(check out my Dan Gable edit and sim him against himself to see what can be done with Freestyle wrestling), but that's a whole other ball of wax.

I'm going to bump this up a bit to serve as my discussion place for the Fire Promoter run that I'm about to do. Basically, here's the bullet points: -I'm creating ten promotions (NBA*, IBF, IBO, IBA, IBU, WBA, WBF, WBO, WBC, Free) * Not that NBA, the National Boxing Association -The reason for creating ten(actually nine active) promotions is to have eight competitor promotions to the player run promotion, and the last one will be explained further down. -Once I have those made, I'll start a draft with my roster, filling out the rosters with an automatic snaking structure. As I already ordered my roster by relative importance/greatness, it should be a decent measure of the draft order. I should keep the draft going until each organization has around fourteen to sixteen members on the roster. -Once the draft is over, I will assign my boxers to their respective organizations and will leave the rest of the undrafted talent in the Free promotion, which is created to ensure that some top shelf talent remains in the free agent pool. After this, I'll put their stable in one of the other promotions. -After all this, I'll head into Promoter, enter the code, set things up, make sure all the Free boxers are set to be free agents and see how this goes. I'll also post a picture of the draft results just to give everyone a better idea of how this can be set up. -When I'm finally done getting the run started, I'll delete all my promotions, file everyone back into their proper Boxing->HW/MW/LW/Womens stables that I have, and delete the promotions, by shuffling the empty ones down to the bottom before doing so, elsewise, I'll trigger the infamous stable jumble. Here's the draft I came up with, some fun promotions I could run here, I'll probably avoid using the one with Ali to begin with, as it'd be a lot more interesting to try to sign him away than use him as a cheat code. Free agent pool has some big names, Mayweather, Duran, De La Hoya, the Old Mongoose, so there'll be some good high level targets there to try to get, too.

One year later and still no custom Ali Shuffle. That's a damned difficult move to Wazamake. :(

One year later and still no custom Ali Shuffle. That's a damned difficult move to Wazamake. :( I can imagine that trying to capture Ali's fluid footwork is a nightmare with what we have to work with. --- Well, I managed to get a run started in Promoter, for some reason, when I used the cheat code, it wouldn't let me replace the default feds with any of my boxing promotions, I could use any other promotion I had, just not them. That was a blessing in disguise, though, as it was much better to start with a small group and work my way up. I started with the IBF organization you can see above from my draft, and kept the first six guys on the roster. It quickly became clear that as popular as Jack Johnson was, Vitali Klitschko and Harry Greb were the real prizes of the IBF. They quickly earned my titles, as I built my way up from running the small venues. With the real ages of the boxers listed, I get such anomalies as a 103 year old Archie Moore, who I happily signed early on, and the Old Mongoose was well preserved, keeping high popularity and winning big fights. The unfortunate part of this is that my usual adherence to historical accuracy in the ages ended up triggering a lot of early retirements. For example, around year two, I scouted and signed Earnie Shavers, who is 70 years old. He stuck around long enough to put up a respectable record, and was gone by year three. I do think the retirement system is the biggest problem with Promoter, you don't get any warning, no chance to change their mind, and as far as I know, there's no comeback. I tried to sign Sugar Ray Leonard off the WBA, due to his low chemistry with the fed, which tanked my own relationship with them, but he turned my offers down multiple times, before retiring with multiple belts. By year three, I managed to get about twenty or so boxers, started expanding into Mexico, having picked up Canelo, Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez, all of whom had sky high popularity. My attempts to scout and find Roberto Duran and Floyd Mayweather Jr both failed to my annoyance, however. One enormously amusing aspect of Boxing Promoter is that you end up having the other feds create tag champions. Not sure how that works, but I saw Rocky Marciano and Thomas Hearns become tag team champs, and I about doubled over laughing. "The Right Hands of Doom" were a short lived team, though, with Hearns retiring within a year of their victory. It was also funny how the random booking created horrible size mismatches, with 105 lbs Jimmy Wilde having to face 6'2, 220 lbs Max Baer or Deontay Wilder. The best part was that unfathomably, 138 lbs Aaron Pryor held the WBA HW title. Must have had a VERY special bottle mixed that night... In short, I'd highly recommend trying out a Boxing run in promoter, it's a good time, and I know I'll be returning to it. I'll also confirm that it's easy enough to clear and delete all your promotions afterwards if you want clean up your select screen once things are assembled for the save.

I hope the one being developed Pound 4 Pound boxing is any good Agreed, his ideas have always provided inspiration for interesting custom rules, parts and moves so we can bring the mode as close to boxing as possible within the framework. And having a vast collection of boxing edits to use as a base doesn't hurt either. Sometimes, you only need one die-hard fan to make something worthwhile.

I just want you to know that I've only realized the amazing work you've done to put boxing (and Martial Arts) as a whole into the game. I think I've finally found the game I can make a kick-ass stream or YouTube out of, because seeing what I have with the DLC and the modpack, I truly think I'll be able to do some amazing boxing and MMA content.
It's July 31, 2021, and you just blew my mind. :) Between your posts and Workshop sharing, along with TheAvenger3 and a few others, I am definitely hooked, and I am going to see if there's anything I can do to help make a boxing or MMA game run great with the tools we have. I'm only truly getting started with this game and see just amazing potential.
Thank you so much for your work and attention to detail. My mind was blown seeing your collections on the Workshop.
The crowd pop for you was unbelievable, Sir.

And I'm still working on some upcoming stuff for the legit martial arts side of things that should assist with your endeavors. I've done a lot in applying custom moves to a lot of my existing boxers and MMA fighters, and probably should be uploading those updates at some point, too. Let me know if there's anything move/edit wise that could help, always appreciate people seeing the potential in these underutilized, but enjoyable aspects of the game.
