Senator Emeritus Steve Phillips: There have been many things I have taken entirely for granted with the perks of my previous professions. My staff ensured that whether I was engaged in my political endeavors or I was overseeing my organization, that the schedules would be formulated, the minutia addressed, that I would not delve so deep into my pursuits as to forget what else had to be done. Alas, now that I am no longer supported by a full complement of trustworthy titans of secretarial assistance, I have found more and more instances where the ever-shifting landscape of my mind has managed to thwart the best-kept plans.

Phillips: As such, I stand here finally, finally addressing the events of this prior month. There are some names in this industry that attain mythical qualities. The Mad Soviet, Doctor Q, a remnant of the Cold War and a paragon of competitive cruelty would be such an individual. Even to share the ring with this chronic violator of the Hippocratic Oath can be considered a merit upon one's resume. It was not so far back into the past that I have believed my reserves fully depleted, my abilities no longer intact. And yet, in a pair of feats that some might find comparable to those of Beowulf or Perseus, I not only endured but yet persevered twice against this malicious mammoth.

Phillips: So then, as a result, I do not address you as Steve Phillips, the defeated former Senator and past great of the ring. Nay, I proudly address you as your Sakura Pro Golden Blossom Champion. Although I no longer serve as the Chairman of my venerable Office, I still like to believe that I remain a representative of the institution in spirit if not in fact. And speaking in my unofficial role, I unequivocally state that the extraordinary relationship the Office shares with Sakura Pro has provided invaluable opportunities, not just for myself, but for many of our outstanding stars, not just for myself, but many others, from helping realize the supernova potential of Moustapha Ndour to revitalizing the storied career of Kosuke Arai. As we move forward, I readily anticipate defending this prized possession against some of the best in the entire business. I pour over lists of outstanding individuals across the Rose Garden, the dreaded juggernaut of vintage homicide, Cleaver, the fast-rising Emerald Emperor, Keito Arai, the spirit of defiant energy, Jessie Andrews and so many more who deserve mention. Sakura Pro does indeed present a brand new world of challenges even for a man such as myself and that is a delightful proposition to ponder. But do not consider this only to be to my own benefit, for I believe when Sakura's best face me, they will face the newsmaker, headline breaker, office taker, world shaker, the roughest, toughest, most intelligent son of a gun ever to set foot inside the squared circle, they will find that just as they pour life back into my career, I will likewise raise theirs up as well, and that, my friends, is nothing...but the truth.
